In Ark Architects we feel real passion for our land. It’s no secret that here, in Costa del Sol, we have found the best scenario for our luxury villas. The climate, the nature, the facilities, the leisure options and the cultural variety makes this place an unique destination in the South of Europe. Exceptional. A destination which adds a plus to our luxury villages. Costa del Sol is sun and beach and also a place with some of the most special hideouts in the andalusian coast. But Costa del Sol is much more than this. Recently we have told you some of the best options to enjoy this place, also in winter.
Now is the time to know some of the essential places in Costa del Sol. Symbols from a region in history, heritage, culture, traditions, gastronomy, leisure…
Málaga. Walking through Larios street, in the city centre, is very attractive by itself. But if you add a visit to the Alcazaba, the Botanical Garden o the historic centre, the attractiveness of the city increases greatly. This time we want to highlight two places which fill us with inspiration: Picasso Museum and Carmen Thyssen Museum. In the first one we can discover the most unknown side of Picasso’s legacy. We follow his career. We discover his evolution. In the second one we can see the most complete exhibition of the andalusian paintings from the nineteenth century you can find in Spain. Art in its purest form.
Antequera Dolmens Site and El Torcal de Antequera. In Costa del Sol is also possible travelling to the past. You can discover the most ancient history of this land and see the first monumental architecture constructions. We go back to our origins. This archaeological site is made up of first megalithic monuments from the European Prehistory. They were built more than 6.500 years ago. Astronomical observation in El Torcal is more than recommended. It’s another way of enjoying this amazing place.
Ronda is one of the most well-known towns in Malaga. Beyond El Tajo de Ronda, symbol of the city and a visit you can’t miss, in Ronda there’s too much to discover. Walking along its streets and enjoying the gastronomy are great options. There are many possibilities to enjoy Ronda with emotion: guided tours, routes, trips, tasting… But, why don’t you know Ronda in a different way? Do it by driving a 800 hp buggy. It’s amazing!
White villages. Getting lost in towns like Mijas, Monda, Ojén, Casarabonela, Istán, Genalguacil or Casares is go by the magic of Andalusia. Their streets keep the ancient essence, secrets of history. Traditions. Culture. It’s also possible to stay in charming places, like La Cala Resort, in Mijas.
Puerto de Sotogrande and Puerto Banús. The first is one of the most beautiful ports in Spain. The second is the most luxury one in Europe. Enjoying the sunset in a yacht is the best way to feel the whole beauty of these ports.
Gibraltar is a british territory overseas. It’s a peninsula which hides much more than what you can imagine. With an area of only 7 square kilometres, Gibraltar is an interesting destination. It borders with La Línea de la Concepción and it is situated to 14 kilometres from the african coast. Mixtures and contrasts are remarkable. Sights from El Peñón are worth the visit and it’s really recommended to go shopping (you can pay in pounds or euros and prices are free of taxes). You’ll be surprised by its most peculiar inhabitants: macaque monkeys (there are around 300).
This is only a brushstroke of what you can find in Costa del Sol, a unique placement for our luxury villas. Attractions turn this place into a paradise not only for visiting, but for living.
